Students & Young Surveyors Support

The Survey Institute of Zimbabwe (SIZ) is dedicated to supporting the next generation of surveyors. Through our Students and Young Surveyors Support programme, we provide mentorship, networking, and professional development opportunities to ensure that young professionals are empowered to succeed in a competitive and rapidly evolving profession.

Being part of the YSN allows young Zimbabwean surveyors to:

Support for Students 

SIZ provides targeted support for students enrolled in surveying and geo-spatial engineering disciplines, including:

• Student Membership – discounted membership that connects students with the professional community.

• Mentorship Opportunities – pairing students with experienced surveyors for career guidance.

• Workshops & Seminars – designed specifically to help students bridge academic knowledge with practical industry skills.

Support for Young Surveyors 

For early-career professionals (typically under 35 years of age or within 10 years of graduation), SIZ provides:

• Young Surveyors Network Activities – forums, networking events, and peer-to-peer learning.

• Leadership Opportunities – representation on SIZ committees and in international YSN activities.

• Professional Development – access to CPD programmes tailored for young professionals.

• Innovation Platforms – opportunities to showcase research, start-ups, and creative applications of geo-spatial technology.
